FTEN Gelar Kuliah Praktisi Bahas Infrastruktur Data Center Bersama Taufik Qurohman
Jakarta, 3 Desember 2025 – Fakultas Telematika Energi (FTEN) ITPLN sukses menyelenggarakan kuliah praktisi yang menghadirkan Taufik Qurohman, ST, Asisten Manajer PT Adis Dimensions Footwear sekaligus alumni Institut Teknologi PLN, Program Studi Teknik Informatika angkatan 2006, pada Rabu, 3 Desember 2025. Kegiatan yang berlangsung di Auditorium lantai 12 Kampus ITPLN pukul 08.00–11.30 WIB ini diikuti oleh 389 mahasiswa dari mata kuliah Jaringan Komputer dan Komunikasi Data. Kuliah praktisi ini merupakan bagian dari penerapan metode perkuliahan 4:4:2 berbasis Outcome-Based Education (OBE), yang mengintegrasikan teori akademik dengan praktik industri. Materi yang disampaikan adalah “Data Center Infrastructure and Network Distribution”, sekaligus memberikan motivasi tentang pentingnya etos kerja dan soft skill dalam dunia kerja.
Dalam pemaparannya, Taufik Qurohman menjelaskan bahwa data center merupakan fasilitas fisik terpusat yang menampung server, sistem penyimpanan, jaringan, dan komponen teknologi informasi lainnya untuk menyimpan, mengelola, memproses, serta mendistribusikan data dan aplikasi penting. Infrastruktur ini dilengkapi dengan sistem pendukung seperti pendingin, daya cadangan, serta keamanan fisik dan siber yang ketat untuk memastikan kelangsungan operasional dan keamanan data perusahaan.
Lebih lanjut, Taufik memaparkan komponen inti yang membentuk infrastruktur data center, mulai dari server, storage, jaringan, sistem pendingin, sistem kelistrikan, hingga sistem keamanan. Ia juga menjelaskan topologi infrastruktur data center dan perangkat distribusi jaringan seperti Core Switch dan Distribution Switch, serta teknologi Switch Layer 3 yang menggabungkan fungsi switching dan routing untuk meningkatkan performa jaringan. Materi yang disampaikan dilengkapi dengan contoh perangkat kelas industri seperti Cisco 4500 Series, Cisco 9400 Series, dan Ruijie RG-CS88 Series, serta penggunaan kabel fiber optic multimode dan singlemode untuk mendukung konektivitas yang andal.
Selain memberikan wawasan teknis, Taufik juga menekankan pentingnya soft skill dalam dunia kerja. Ia memotivasi mahasiswa untuk memiliki etos kerja yang kuat, menjaga relasi profesional, dan mengikuti instruksi atasan dengan baik. Menurutnya, keberhasilan di industri tidak hanya ditentukan oleh penguasaan hardskill, tetapi juga kemampuan beradaptasi, komunikasi, dan kerja sama tim
Karina Djunaidi, ST, MT, dosen pengampu mata kuliah Jaringan Komputer, menyampaikan apresiasinya terhadap kegiatan ini:
“Kuliah praktisi seperti ini sangat membantu mahasiswa untuk mengaitkan teori yang dipelajari dengan praktik nyata di industri. Mereka jadi lebih siap menghadapi tantangan dunia kerja.”
Sementara itu, Dr. Puji Catursiswipraptini, ST, MTI, dosen Komunikasi Data, menambahkan:
“Kolaborasi dengan praktisi industri adalah langkah strategis agar kurikulum kita selalu relevan dengan perkembangan teknologi. Mahasiswa mendapat insight langsung dari pelaku industri.”

FTEN Hosts Guest Lecture on Data Centre Infrastructure and Network Distribution with Taufik Qurohman
Jakarta, 3 December 2025 – The Faculty of Energy Telematics (FTEN) at ITPLN successfully organised a guest lecture featuring Taufik Qurohman, ST, Assistant Manager at PT Adis Dimensions Footwear and alumnus of Institut Teknologi PLN, Informatics Engineering programme, class of 2006, on Wednesday, 3 December 2025. The event took place in the 12th-floor auditorium of ITPLN’s campus from 08:00 to 11:30 WIB, attended by 389 students enrolled in Computer Networks and Data Communication classes. This guest lecture is part of FTEN’s commitment to implementing the 4:4:2 learning method based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), which integrates academic theory with real-world industry practice. The topic presented was “Data Centre Infrastructure and Network Distribution”, offering students a deeper understanding of networking concepts applied in professional environments.
During his presentation, Taufik Qurohman explained that a data centre is a centralised physical facility that houses servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and other IT components to store, manage, process, and distribute critical data and applications. This infrastructure is supported by cooling systems, backup power, and robust physical and cyber security measures to ensure operational continuity and data protection.
He further elaborated on the core components of a data centre, including servers, storage, networking systems, cooling, electrical systems, and safety mechanisms. The lecture also covered data centre topology, network distribution devices such as Core Switches and Distribution Switches, and advanced Layer 3 Switch technology, which combines switching and routing functions to enhance network performance. Practical examples of industry-grade devices were shared, including Cisco 4500 Series, Cisco 9400 Series, and Ruijie RG-CS88 Series, along with the use of multimode and singlemode fibre optic cables for reliable connectivity.
Beyond technical knowledge, Taufik also emphasised the importance of soft skills in the workplace. He motivated students to develop a strong work ethic, maintain good professional relationships, and follow instructions from supervisors. According to him, success in the industry requires not only technical expertise but also interpersonal skills and adaptability to organisational culture.
Karina Djunaidi, ST, MT, the course coordinator for Computer Networks, expressed her appreciation for the session:
“This activity bridges the gap between classroom learning and industry practices. Students gain a clearer understanding of how theoretical concepts are applied in professional settings.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Puji Catursiswipraptini, ST, MTI, a lecturer in Data Communication, highlighted the importance of such collaborations:
